FIRE PROTECTION

Our fire protection products are based on so-called intumescent materials which are technologically advanced fire protection materials that expand rapidly when they are heated to seal off air gaps in facades, ventilation pipes in walls and holes for lights in ceiling to name a few applications. They provide the benefit of allowing a penetration or cavity to be open during normal conditions and sealing it off in case of a fire.

We offer ventilated fire barriers suitable for a wide range of cavity sizes and constructions for use in facades. Modern constructions often require external cladding, external facades and rainscreen systems to be held away from the building structure to allow ventilation and improve the building energy efficiency. This resulting cavity creates a serious fire protection threat to structures and people. The void acts like an open chimney and allows the fire to spread quickly both vertically and horizontally around the building. Our range of intumescent ventilated fire barriers are designed to maintain the ventilated cavity in normal conditions but will rapidly expand to seal off the gap in the event of a fire.

Facade

Ceiling

Our light covers are fire and acoustic rated covers designed to fire rate downlight fixtures and reinstate the performance of ceilings when penetrated by recessed downlights. The covers are available in various sizes to suit a wide range of lighting products over and above those covered by fire rated downlights. The covers are simple to install and can be retrofitted into position, providing effective performance even if the downlight is removed and replaced. They prevent combustible materials from coming into contact with hot downlighters – thus minimising fire risk. The covers are ventilated to allow heat to disperse from the light, but in the event of a fire the intumescent material expands to seal off the ceiling cut-out and vent holes.

Wall

All buildings have walls and floors with fire and acoustic ratings. When mechanical services are installed through compartment walls and floors, their integrity and ability to perform to the required fire and acoustic standards are significantly reduced. Penetrations, such as openings for pipes, vents, and air valves must be fire stopped in order to reinstate the fire rating of the wall, ceiling or floor in which it is contained, and ensure that fire and smoke are unable to spread through the penetration. We provide a range of fully tested fire protection products for mechanical service penetrations, offering a quick and simple way to maintain the fire and acoustic rating where electrical penetrations are involved.
